Tandem Skydive

The ultimate first skydive

A tandem skydive is the ultimate way to experience the thrill of freefall with minimal preparation. You jump harnessed to a fully qualified tandem instructor who takes care of everything, while you enjoy around 40 seconds of freefall at about 200 km/h, followed by a scenic 5 to 7 minute parachute ride back to the airfield.

Tandem skydives take place at Diepkloof Airfield near Malmesbury and are run with our partners, Mother City Skydiving. Tandems are available every day of the week, weather permitting.

Prices

  • Tandem Skydive 10 000ft – R3,950 pp
  • Tandem Skydive 12 000ft – R5,000 pp

Camera options

Hand camera – your tandem instructor films your skydive with a small action camera strapped to their wrist.

3rd Eye Camera – a separate camera flyer jumps with you and films and photographs your whole experience: before the jump, in the plane, in freefall and on landing.

What happens on the day

  1. Arrival – once your booking is confirmed you will get an arrival date and time. Register at manifest when you arrive.
  2. Briefing – about 30 minutes of instruction on the equipment, what to expect and how to position yourself.
  3. Kit up – your instructor fits your harness and takes you out to the aircraft.
  4. Jump – exit between 10,000 and 12,000 feet, freefall, then a gentle parachute flight and landing.
  5. Your footage – if you booked a camera, you go home with a memory card of your video and photos.

Allow about 2 hours at the airfield. Skydiving is weather-dependent, so there can be delays and jumps may be rescheduled.
